For the past 20 years, I have worked for Life Unlimited, a local agency providing home and community services for adults with IDD (intellectual and developmental disabilities). During that time, I have worked and continue to work with many government agencies as related to services being provided. As a result, I have an in depth understanding of the needs of the individuals we serve.

Working with individuals with IDD, you have to wear many hats. We are health care providers, we are teachers, we are counselors. We provide services as varied as driving individuals served to assisting them with finances and cleaning their homes. Having these in-depth experiences over the last 2 decades makes me uniquely qualified to serve as the Clay County PA (Public Administrator).

In the last 20 years of providing these services, I have formed close relationships with agencies in Missouri and Kansas that help us provide critical services to the individuals we serve. For the last several months, during the Covid crisis, we have made many changes to our services. We have implemented emergency procedures necessary to maintain the health and safety of the persons served as well as those providing services. I work daily in contact with all interested parties from services coordinators and government agencies to guardians and family. We will continue to closely monitor these procedures for the foreseeable future.

  • I have spent 20 years working with individuals under the care of the PA's office.
  • I have an in depth understanding of the needs of the individuals under the care of the PA's office.
  • My 20 years experience working with these individuals and my understanding of their needs make me uniquely qualified for Clay county Public Administrator.
I am mostly passionate about local government. I fully supported the audit of the Clay County government. I am an elected member of the Clay County Democratic Central Committee. During my time on the committee, I have worked with candidates and officials at all levels of the state and local government. Right now, my passion lies with fixing Clay county and returning the trust of its citizens.
Integrity, Experience and Qualification. Far too many times we have seen people in positions they are not qualified for. Every elected position is different and the the candidates qualifications should match the position they are after.
To do what is in the best interests of the individuals they are responsible for.
A Baker at Sams Club. I worked there for the 6 months prior to finding my current job at Life Unlimited where I have worked for the past 20 years.
One by Richard Bach. I love the idea of examining different possibilities, different outcomes for our lives.

"I gave my life to become the person I am right now. Was it worth it?" -Richard Bach
Spock. The idea if being able to explore the galaxy and meet and learn about new people and cultures sounds incredible.
The Public Administrator serves as a guardian and conservator for individuals who are developmentally disabled or mentally incapacitated and have been determined by the courts to be unable to make decisions for themselves either partially or fully.
I believe it is important for holders of this office to have experience working with the disabled and incapacitated individuals they are responsible for.
Training in the area of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Knowledge of how to communicate and work with individuals with IDD and an understanding of their needs.
