Hi! My name is Dr. Jeremy Grisham. I am a medically retired Navy Hospital Corpsman, and I am a licensed therapist in Washington State. If elected, regardless of my political ideology, I will represent all people within My district but also of Snohomish County. I believe every community should have representation so all voices are heard and all issues relevant to a community are taken seriously and are addressed appropriately. If elected, I will fight for every voice and work for the people until we find real equity within the political process so that real equity can is realized for all.
  • I believe in taking hate out of our political discourse so that we can begin to take hate out of the lives of everyone.
  • All communities deserve representation so their unique voices are heard.
  • I will work towards identifying community-based interventions into policies, which will support all communities, while also teaching the benefits of diversity, empathy, and respect. We need to find the common bonds between us, which far outweigh our perceived differences. We are stronger as one community and we are more resilient when we can come together.
Erasing systemic oppression in all of its forms.
I look up to those who have the courage to speak up and out to any form of systemic oppression. Paulo Freire, Ignacio Martin-Baro, Malcolm X, AOC and Bernie Sanders to name a few.
Those who are elected do not represent just those who vote along political lines. We are a voice for all people and my first responsibility is to all members of my community first and foremost. Those issues relevant to them are those issues, which are relevant to me.
I want all people to be able to live without fear of harassment, brutality, or death when leaving their homes. I want all people to have the opportunity to seek their dreams and to provide for their families in meaningful ways.
A lot of historical events come to mind but my first came when Reagan defeated Carter in 1980. My mom was upset that the presidency was called before votes on the west coast had been counted.
I worked in newspaper delivery as a kid, living in Bend Oregon.
My favorite fiction is Cloud Atlas. It is a beautiful story about the connections we share with each other generationally. My favorite academic text is Freire’s Pedagogy of the Oppressed. This book helped give me voice and helped me break free from my own oppression.
Wolverine. He’s always been my favorite since I was a kid.
Overcoming my own negative self-talk. We can be, and are often, our own worst enemies.
Unknown, I am not running an aggressive campaign.
I am a father of four biological children. Ages 32, 28, 10 and 6. They are my greatest accomplishments and they each give me strength and courage. They are my heroes.
