"Bowling Alone" is a book written by Robert D. Putnam that examines the decline of social capital and civic engagement in the United States. In the book, Putnam argues that there has been a significant decrease in social and community connections, as people have become more disconnected from one another and from their communities.
Accountability: Taking responsibility for actions and decisions, and being answerable to the constituents.
Transparency: Being open and honest in communication, and ensuring that the public has access to information about government activities.
Listening and empathy: Actively listening to the concerns and needs of the constituents, and showing empathy towards their experiences.
Collaboration: Working well with others, both within and outside of the political party, to find common ground and achieve positive outcomes.
Courage: Having the courage to stand up for what is right, even in the face of opposition or criticism.
Legislation and Policy Making: Elected officials are responsible for proposing, drafting, and supporting legislation and policies that address the needs and priorities of the community. This includes conducting research, engaging in debate, and collaborating with other officials to develop and enact effective laws and policies.
Budgetary Oversight: Elected officials play a crucial role in overseeing and managing public finances. They are responsible for developing and approving budgets that allocate resources for various public services and programs. This requires careful analysis, prioritization, and transparency to ensure responsible financial management.
Constituent Services: Elected officials should provide assistance and support to their constituents. This includes addressing concerns, providing information, and connecting individuals with appropriate resources or services. They should also be accessible and responsive to the needs of the community.
Decision-Making: Elected officials are responsible for making informed decisions on a wide range of issues that affect their constituents. They should gather relevant information, seek input from experts and stakeholders, and consider the potential impacts of their decisions before taking action.
Creating a safe and brighter future for the community involves addressing the needs and concerns of its residents. This can include initiatives to enhance public safety, improve infrastructure, promote economic growth, and provide access to quality education and healthcare. By focusing on these areas, you can contribute to the overall development and prosperity of your community.
In this ideal relationship, the governor and state legislature should engage in open and constructive dialogue, valuing diverse perspectives and ideas. They should actively seek common ground and find innovative solutions to address the challenges facing the state. This requires a willingness to listen, compromise, and work towards consensus, putting aside partisan differences for the greater good.
Furthermore, the governor and state legislature should have a clear understanding of their respective roles and responsibilities. The governor should provide strong leadership, setting the vision and agenda for the state, while the state legislature should exercise its legislative powers to enact laws and policies that reflect the needs and aspirations of the people.
Transparency and accountability are also essential in this relationship. Both the governor and state legislature should be accountable to the public, ensuring that their actions are transparent and aligned with the principles of good governance.
One of the greatest challenges Arizona will face is border protection. Given our proximity to the international border, it is crucial to address border security issues effectively. We must find a balance between ensuring the safety and security of our communities.
Water scarcity and consumption is another pressing challenge. As a desert state, Arizona heavily relies on water resources, and our growing population and economic development put a strain on our water supply. We need to implement innovative water management strategies, invest in water conservation technologies, and promote responsible water usage to ensure a sufficient and sustainable water supply for future generations.
In addition, we must address the challenges in state Medicaid and human health services. Access to affordable and quality healthcare is essential for the well-being of our citizens. We need to work towards improving access to healthcare services, expanding Medicaid coverage, and investing in preventive care to ensure that all Arizonans have the opportunity to live healthy and productive lives.
Furthermore, public education is a critical challenge that we must address. Providing quality education for our children is essential for their future success and the overall prosperity of our state. We need to invest in our public schools, support our teachers, and ensure that every student has access to a high-quality education that prepares them for the jobs and challenges of the future.
My having 25 years of experience in public service, such as being a firefighter for 19 years and a public school teacher, demonstrates a deep understanding of the philosophies and inner workings of elected and appointed positions that make up the bureaucracy. This experience provides valuable insights into the legislative process, the complexities of policymaking, and the needs of public servants like firefighters and teachers. It also helps in building relationships and networks within the political sphere, which can be beneficial in advocating for the interests of constituents and effectively navigating the legislative landscape. Therefore, my extensive experience in public service makes me well-equipped to serve as a state legislator senator.
Collaboration and Bipartisanship: By developing relationships across party lines, legislators can work together on common goals and find bipartisan solutions to address the needs and concerns of the citizens. Collaborative efforts often lead to more effective and balanced policies that can benefit a broader range of constituents.
Information Sharing and Learning: Building relationships with other legislators allows for the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and expertise. By engaging in conversations and discussions, legislators can learn from one another's experiences, perspectives, and best practices. This information sharing can lead to improved decision-making and the development of well-informed policies.
Coalition Building: By forming alliances and coalitions with like-minded legislators, individuals can amplify their voices, increase their influence, and have a greater impact on policy-making. Collaborating with others who share similar goals and values can help legislators build consensus and garner support for their initiatives.
Building Trust and Respect: Strong relationships among legislators foster an environment of trust, respect, and mutual understanding. Trust is crucial for effective negotiation, compromise, and the ability to work through disagreements. When legislators trust and respect one another, they are more likely to find common ground and prioritize the greater good over personal or partisan interests.
Guard rails are important and I believe that judicial ruling helps with this oversight.
Currently, our first responders are having to pay for their healthcare and typically are being denied their claims for healthcare protection due to job related illness.
Natural Resources, Energy and Water
Government accountability is equally important. It means that elected officials and public servants are answerable for their actions and decisions, and that they prioritize the interests of the public. Accountability ensures that those in power are held responsible for their actions, and that there are mechanisms in place to address any abuses of power or breaches of trust.

1. "Hamilton" (musical): Lin-Manuel Miranda's acclaimed musical offers a unique way to engage with Alexander Hamilton's political philosophy and his contributions to the formation of the United States. The musical explores themes such as individual ambition, the balance of power, and the importance of citizen participation in shaping a nation's destiny.
2. "Bowling Alone: The Collapse and Revival of American Community" by Robert D. Putnam: This book delves into the decline of social and political engagement in American society, including the decreasing rates of voter participation. Putnam examines the consequences of this decline on community involvement, trust, and democracy itself.
1. Integrity: Upholding a high standard of ethics and honesty is crucial. Elected officials should demonstrate integrity in their actions, decisions, and interactions with constituents.
2. Commitment to public service: Serving the public should be the utmost priority. A genuine dedication to improving the lives of constituents and addressing their needs is essential.
3. Experience and expertise: Having a background in public education and firefighting provides a unique perspective and understanding of crucial issues. This experience equips me with insights into the challenges faced by educators, first responders, and the community as a whole.
4. Non-partisanship: As an independent candidate, I value the ability to approach issues without the constraints of party politics. Prioritizing the needs of the people over political affiliations is essential to effective representation.
5. Open-mindedness: An elected official should be receptive to different viewpoints, willing to listen to constituents, and open to collaboration across party lines. Being open-minded fosters constructive dialogue and the ability to find common ground.
6. Transparency and accountability: Ensuring that constituents are well-informed about the decision-making process and being accountable for actions and promises are crucial for building trust in government.
7. Empathy and compassion: Understanding the challenges and struggles faced by constituents is essential for effective representation. Empathy and compassion help in crafting policies that address the needs of diverse communities.
2. Communication skills: Officeholders need to be adept at articulating their ideas, engaging with diverse audiences, and effectively communicating their policies and initiatives.
3. Integrity and ethics: Trust is a crucial element in politics. Officeholders should demonstrate honesty, transparency, and ethical conduct to gain public trust and maintain credibility.
4. Problem-solving and decision-making: Successful officeholders must possess analytical skills to identify and address complex problems, make sound decisions based on evidence and expert advice, and navigate through various challenges.
5. Collaboration and consensus-building: The ability to work collaboratively with other stakeholders, build coalitions, and find common ground is essential for advancing policies and achieving meaningful change.
6. Empathy and understanding: A successful officeholder should be empathetic towards the needs and concerns of their constituents, demonstrating an understanding of diverse perspectives and a commitment to representing and serving their community.
1. Representation: Elected officials should represent the interests, values, and diverse voices of their constituents. They should actively engage with and listen to the concerns, needs, and aspirations of the community they serve.
2. Policy-making: It is the responsibility of elected officials to propose, support, and enact legislation that addresses the pressing issues and challenges faced by the community. This includes formulating policies that promote economic growth, social welfare, environmental sustainability, and public safety, among other priorities.
3. Constituent services: Elected officials should provide accessible and responsive constituent services. This involves assisting constituents with issues related to government services, navigating bureaucratic processes, and advocating for their needs and concerns.
4. Transparency and accountability: Elected officials have a duty to maintain transparency in their actions, decision-making processes, and use of public funds. They should be accountable to the community by regularly communicating their actions, attending public meetings, and being open to feedback and constructive criticism.
1. Sustainable Development: I would prioritize policies and initiatives that promote sustainable practices, such as renewable energy adoption, conservation efforts, and environmental protection. By addressing pressing environmental challenges, I aim to leave a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable place for future generations.
2. Social Equality: I would work towards reducing inequalities by implementing policies that promote equal opportunities and access to education, healthcare, and employment. Supporting marginalized communities and ensuring fairness and inclusivity would be at the forefront of my agenda.
3. Economic Prosperity: I would strive to create an environment conducive to economic growth and innovation. Promoting small businesses, attracting investments, and fostering job creation would be key to enhancing the overall prosperity and well-being of the community.
4. Education and Empowerment: I would focus on improving education systems, providing quality education to all, and equipping individuals with the knowledge and skills needed for success in the modern world. Empowering individuals through education would be a fundamental aspect of my legacy.
5. Good Governance: I would emphasize transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in public service. Establishing strong governance mechanisms and building trust with constituents would be essential for promoting a culture of integrity and ensuring public resources are used efficiently and effectively.

By fostering an environment of citizen participation, I aim to leave a legacy of active and engaged communities that have a voice in shaping their own futures.
These difficulties taught me the importance of inclusive and accessible education for all individuals, regardless of their learning styles or abilities. It inspired me to work towards creating an educational system that accommodates diverse needs and ensures that every student has an equal opportunity to learn and succeed.
Another unique quality of the House is its focus on the principle of proportionate representation. The number of representatives from each state is determined by its population, which ensures that larger states have more representation, while still allowing smaller states to have a voice. This system promotes fairness and inclusivity.
Additionally, the House of Representatives is known for its role in initiating revenue-related legislation. All bills related to taxation and government spending must originate in the House, highlighting its crucial role in shaping the country's fiscal policies.
Furthermore, the House has the power of impeachment, which provides a mechanism for holding government officials accountable for any alleged misconduct. This power ensures a system of checks and balances, preventing any abuse of power within the executive branch.
Having served within the government for over two decades, I have gained valuable insights into the bureaucratic processes and understand how policies are developed and implemented. This experience has provided me with a deep understanding of the inner workings of our institutions and the ability to navigate complex systems.
However, it is crucial to recognize that effective representation goes beyond just understanding the bureaucratic processes. It is about being able to listen to constituents, empathize with their concerns, and develop practical solutions that address their needs. It is about being open-minded, collaborative, and responsive to the diverse perspectives and experiences of the people you represent.
While previous government experience can undoubtedly offer a strong foundation, it should not be the sole criterion for evaluating a candidate's ability to represent the people effectively. It is equally important to consider qualities such as integrity, leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to think critically and analytically.
Climate and Water
Healthcare (universal care)
Payroll Tax and reform, Social Security Protections and Pension Reform
Free market protections and free trade exchanges
The division of neighborhoods, families and the middle class through extreme groups that are conspirators and non-fact based propaganda.
On one hand, a shorter term allows for more frequent opportunities for voters to hold their representatives accountable and voice their concerns through the election process. This can help ensure that representation is occurring and that the needs and interests of the constituents are being actively addressed.
On the other hand, a shorter term can potentially hinder long-term planning and the ability to implement substantive policy changes. Representatives may feel pressured to focus more on campaigning for re-election rather than dedicating sufficient time to legislating and working on complex issues. Additionally, it may take some time for representatives to fully understand the intricacies of the legislative process and build relationships with other members of Congress, which could limit their effectiveness.
While I do not aim to directly model myself after any particular representative, I find inspiration in leaders like Congressman Bob Stump. Observing his commitment to serving the people, his principled approach, and his ability to bring about positive change in his community motivates me to strive for similar qualities in my own political journey.
Hearing this veteran's experience inspired me to take action and work towards creating a more efficient and effective government that can better serve those who have served us. I believe it is our duty to expedite the process of providing benefits to veterans, ensuring they receive the support they need in a timely manner. Their dedication and sacrifice deserve nothing less.
This story fuels my passion to advocate for improved veteran services and to create a system that prioritizes the well-being of those who have given their mind, body, and spirit to protect our nation. It is through stories like this that I am reminded of the importance of my role as a representative and the impact I can make in the lives of individuals within my district.
Compromise is essential because it encourages collaboration and fosters bipartisan cooperation. It allows different perspectives and ideas to be considered, leading to well-rounded policies that take into account a wide range of interests and concerns. By finding middle ground, compromises can often address the needs of various stakeholders and prevent extreme policies from dominating the decision-making process.
Leaders from the last three presidential administrations, as well as our own senators in Arizona, have recognized the importance of compromise in policy making. They have understood that by engaging in constructive dialogue and seeking common solutions, we can achieve progress that reflects the diverse needs and aspirations of our nation.
Even President Obama, known for his philosophy of "hope and change," emphasized the need for compromise during his tenure. He often stated that progress requires give and take, and that finding common ground should be a priority.
If there were proposals or power-plays related to revenue bills originating in the House, my priority would be to thoroughly analyze the potential impact on the constituents of Arizona's congressional district 8. I would carefully consider the specific legislation, its implications, and how it aligns with the values and needs of the district.
Ultimately, my decision on any revenue bill would be guided by principles such as fairness, transparency, and the overall benefit to the community. I would engage in open dialogue with stakeholders, seeking input from constituents, experts, and colleagues across party lines to ensure a well-informed decision-making process.
As an independent candidate, I have the unique opportunity to prioritize the concerns and interests of the people rather than being bound by partisan agendas. My goal is to approach every decision with a focus on what is best for the people of Arizona's congressional district 8, regardless of which political party originated the revenue bill.
When it comes to utilizing these investigative powers, it is imperative to prioritize the interests of the American people over partisan politics. Investigations should be conducted with integrity, impartiality, and a commitment to uncovering the truth, rather than being wielded as a political weapon against opponents.
It is not acceptable to use political party affiliation as a basis for investigations. Instead, investigations should be driven by a genuine desire to serve the public interest, protect the rule of law, and hold those in power accountable, regardless of their political affiliation.
As an independent candidate, I am committed to promoting a non-partisan approach to investigations. This means working collaboratively with colleagues from both sides of the aisle to ensure that investigations are fair, objective, and focused on the facts. I would prioritize seeking bipartisan consensus on the scope and purpose of investigations, ensuring that they serve the best interests of the American people.
Additionally, I would advocate for transparency throughout the investigative process. Public trust is essential, and ensuring that investigations are conducted openly and with clear communication helps to maintain the integrity of the process.
