Jeremy Teetor was a candidate for an at-large seat on the Alamance-Burlington School System Board of Education in North Carolina. He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014.

Teetor attended Elon University to study History Education. He was a teacher at Bragg Street Academy, the alternative middle and high school in Lee County.[1]

Three at-large seats on the Alamance-Burlington Board of Education were up for general election on November 4, 2014. Tony Rose was the only incumbent running for re-election. He ran against challengers Greg Beavers, Tom Gamble, Allison Gant, Ron Harber, Mark T. Payne, Heather Sorrell and Jeremy Teetor.

Grant, Rose and Payne won the open seats.

Funding

Teetor reported $2,478.70 in contributions and $1,734,12 in expenditures to the Alamance County Board of Elections, which left his campaign with $744.58 on hand.[2]

Payne's campaign website listed his themes for 2014:

Increase program offerings (i.e. advanced placement courses) at underserved schools in the district.

Establish a magnet school within the school system to attract high achieving students and increased parent involvement to underserved schools.

Advocate for changes that will guarantee a high quality education at all schools rather than just some schools.

Adjust school start time to be consistent with times that research suggests students learn best.

Hire new superintendent who will continue successes of prior superintendent: increased graduation rate, lower dropout rate, and increased participation in advanced courses.

Implement policies that will attract highly qualified teachers and administrators to the Alamance-Burlington School System.
