I’m Jeremy Terrell, a true Jonesboro native who’s seen our town through the eyes of a child, a worker, and now, a leader ready to serve.

Growing up here, I cherished every moment—from the Indian mall days to the transformation of downtown. ASU ball games to 4th of Julys in the park. Skiing on Craighead Lake to Munchy’s cheese sticks.

My journey took me far, managing big projects and leading teams of hundreds. But my heart never left Jonesboro.

Like you, I’ve noticed that Jonesboro is not what it used to be. In the past decade, we’ve nearly doubled in size… and sadly, we’ve almost doubled in drug problems, violent crimes, poor school test scores, poor housing, and dropped in our overall quality of life.

Something has to change. We need to change directions now before we spiral out of control like other once peaceful, prosperous Arkansas towns. We can no longer ignore the truth and the problems we face as a community.

I feel called by God to act and serve you. I’m running for mayor because I believe in us, in our potential to make Jonesboro a beacon of safety, prosperity, and pride.

Let’s do this – together!
  • Community Safety: We’re making Jonesboro a fortress of safety. No shortcuts, no excuses. Our kids, our families deserve to walk our streets without fear.
  • Fiscal Responsibility: Every penny of your taxes will be guarded like it should be. We’re cutting waste, saving for tomorrow, and investing where it counts. No more blind or frivolous spending.
  • City Hall’s gonna be an open book. We work for you. Expect nothing less than honesty, integrity, and results.
Jesus Christ is my role model. He lived His life full of service and I believe that's where true happiness comes from.
I have the ability to lead people in a way that makes them enjoy their job and helps them to be highly effective. I have a heart for service and lead by example. I am a strong communicator and not afraid to have difficult conversations. I do my best to tell the truth.
A legacy of truly caring and making a positive difference in people's lives, making a positive impact in my community, and being influential for others to do the same.
When I was 7 years old, I lived in Denver when the space shuttle flew in on the back of an airplane. They were displaying it before it went into space. My mother worked at the airport and I was able to participate.
My first job was lay brick with my uncles. And I did it for a couple summers in a row beginning at age 15.
Jonathan Livingston Seagull because Jonathan Livingston was always pressing the limits of being a seagull. All the other seagulls thought this was silly - just be a regular seagull, they essentially told him. But he wanted to be the best he could be and was banished for doing so. And along his journey, he learned how to love and serve others, and taught other seagulls to do the same. He didn't do it for fame; he did it for love.
Superman, ever since I was a kid, was my hero. He never allowed his abilities to stand in the way of doing the right thing.
Learning how to deal with the challenges of being dyslexic has been a struggle at times. Becoming a strong reader and enjoying reading has been something I've overcome. Spelling continues to plague me at times - thank goodness for spell check. Knowing what it is like to have dyslexia has also allowed me to advocate for others who struggle with this challenge as well.
The ideal relationship between a mayor and local law enforcement should be based on mutual respect, collaboration, and accountability. The mayor, plays a key role in setting policy priorities that reflect the community’s values and safety needs. Law enforcement, in turn, is responsible for implementing those policies while maintaining public order and upholding the law.

To be effective, the mayor and law enforcement leaders must maintain open lines of communication and be able to work together on issues. Transparency and trust are essential, as they foster public confidence in the city’s leadership and its police force. Additionally, the mayor should provide oversight to ensure that law enforcement operates within legal and ethical boundaries, while also supporting the police in their efforts to protect the community.
