|From an early age, I found nobility in public service. I was inspired by elected officials that put people first, from Paul Wellstone to Bernie Sanders. I wanted to help people who needed help most, and carry that passion through to today. I serve on the Alexandria City Parks Board, the ATCC Diversity Committee, and continue to volunteer my time whenever possible.
Outside of public life, I work in customer service, am a father to two boys, and I love to go to concerts, fish, and spend time outdoors.- I believe that anyone who works for a living should make a living. This includes benefits, paid leave, access to childcare and healthcare, education, food and shelter. We have the means to ensure this to everyone, we just need the will.
- Affordable housing is ever fleeting and a primary solution is to increase supply. We need to work in collaboration between public and private enterprise to increase availability so that working class people have more opportunity to thrive and grow within their communities.
- Integrity in office is in short supply, largely due to the role big money plays in it. Elected officials should be beholden to their constituents, not special interest groups and lobbyists. There should also be an expectation that they convey as accurate information to the public as possible. People looks to elected officials for guidance, and they should be able to trust what they're told.
