Biography
Jerome Evans was born in Columbia, South Carolina. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2003 and a J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2006. Evans’s career experience includes working as a program representative for Minnesota Service Cooperative and as a real estate attorney. He also served as Co-Chair of the Public Health Advisory Committee for the City of Minneapolis.[1]

- We must close our worst-in-the-nation achievement gaps. Education is the number one driver of socioeconomic equity. When we invest in education we are also investing in racial justice.
- Climate change is real and Minnesotans deserve a comprehensive strategy for drawing down our carbon emissions and preserving our natural resources from exploitation.
- Our public safety system must be reformed. The Minnesota Legislature should not block civilian review boards from effectively conducting oversight of the police nor should it restrict cities from offering preferential treatment to law enforcement candidates that live in the city where they serve.
The book's narrative structure empowers people who have been through traumatic experiences to bring about positive change in their communities and their world in the face of an existential crisis.
