Jerome P. Owens, Jr.
Jerome P. Owens was a judge of Texas District 1-A.[1] Owens was elected to this court in 2006, taking office in 2007. He reached the statutory maximum age, however, and he retired at the end of his term in 2014.[2][3]
Military service
Owens served in the United States Marines.[4]
Education
Owens received his undergraduate degree from Lamar University and his J.D. from Baylor University in 1969.[4]
Career
Prior to taking the bench of the Texas District 1-A Court, Owens was judge of the Tyler County Court for 17 years. Before that Owens was an attorney in private practice.[4]
