Biography

Jerrell Hargraves was born in New Britain, Connecticut. He took classes at the University of Hartford. His professional experience includes working as a human rights officer. Hargraves has served as a board member of the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain and as a board member of the New Britain Public Library.[1]

Jerrell Hargraves is a lifelong New Britain resident and dedicated community leader. Jerrell is a graduate of the Consolidated School District of New Britain, he has served his community being elected to serve a term as Alderman in ward two for the city, active on the board of directors for the New Britain Public Library, Community Foundation of Greater New Britain board member and currently holds the position of Human Rights and Opportunities Officer. Jerrell is passionate about public service ever since childhood when he would always look for ways to solve problems or help others. He understands how to work hard, understands the issues that a city and state faces and is uniquely equipped to tackle our problems head-on. Jerrell is passionate about quality education, creating job opportunities, fair and affordable housing as well as equity in the criminal justice system. Jerrell can't and won't be silenced. He is one of us and is the new voice we need in Hartford. We are in this together not only through a pandemic, but as leading our community to a better tomorrow for future generations to come.
Equity for all, Ensuring that everyone's voice is heard. Ensuring that education equity across the state. Minimizing taxes.
