Jerry Stokes
Jerry Stokes was a judge for Division VI of the Thirtieth Circuit Court in Tennessee. He left office in 2022.
Biography
Education
Stokes received his undergraduate degree from Memphis State University and his J.D. degree from Southern University.[1][2]
Career
Stokes practiced law with the Stokes, Wilson and Wright Law Firm from 1981 until his appointment to the Thirtieth Circuit Court in 2005. He has also previously worked with Walter L. Bailey, D'Army Bailey, the Memphis Area Legal Services, and is a former assistant district attorney. From 1998 to 2005, Stokes served part-time as an assistant divorce referee in Shelby County. He has also served on many occasions as a special judge for the Shelby County General Sessions Court.[3][1]
