2014
Stevenson's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[5]
Economy
- Excerpt: "As the owner of J and J Nursery, I know what it takes to make a payroll every month, in good economic times and bad. I know what it takes to build and sustain successful businesses. As your State Senator I will continue to work to provide other Davis County businesses the freedom and tools they need."
Transportation
- Excerpt: "Davis County is a great place to live and continues to grow and we have to plan for that growth. I played a major role in getting the Legacy Highway built. I will not let left-wing special interests from outside the county and state keep Davis County from responsible future planning and road building."
Education
- Excerpt: "The best way to improve education is to fund it appropriately. Our students need and deserve more. We can give them more by expanding our economy. The more we let the free market take hold, the more we will see our state revenues increase. Increasing taxes are not the answer to our problems. Economic freedom will drive growth and this will increase revenues that can then be invested back into the classroom."

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
