Campaign themes

2016

Loban's campaign website highlighted the following issues:

  • Abortion: 100% Pro-Life - No Exceptions! I am dedicated to saving the lives of the unborn in Colorado and ending funding for fetal testing. I believe that life starts at conception and should be defended.
  • The Constitution: The Declaration of Independence establishes God the source of our rights, and the Constitution is in place to ensure these rights. Our Constitution is rare and exceptional in the world and it must be upheld at all cost. It is our duty to identify all of the legislation that has been placed in conflict with our Constitution and remove it in an expedient and thoughtful manner. Legislators are sworn to uphold the Constitution and this begins with eliminating bills that interfere with our Rights.
  • Religious Liberty: Our religious liberty, or the ability to live our lives by our conscience, has been greatly forgotten by big government. We have had courts demand small business owners to provide their personal services for causes that they have a conscientious objection to. This is completely unacceptable and a tremendous unconstitutional judicial overreach. We must protect our religious and conscientious liberties and ensure that they are observed by every level of government.
  • Attack on the Family: I believe that there is a clear and concerted attack on the family and a division being wedged between children and their parents. The family unit is the primary structure that has been the crux of moral civilization of our country from the start. This agenda is barraged at our children through the new education agendas, mandates from Washington, expansive regulations from unconstitutional bureaucratic departments, and even popular media to to further the narrative that the traditional family is no longer useful. I am committed to defending the family, parental rights, and biblical values to keep our State on track.
  • Individual Liberty: The Bill of Rights provides clear protection of our ability to live in our own best interest and under our own control. This extends to both our own beings and to our property. I am firmly against eminent domain and federal confiscation of land in our State.[3]
