Path to the ballot

Residents submitted a petition with the needed 169 valid signatures to get the recall measure onto the ballot. The reason given for the recall effort was that Bryan had not lived up to the promises he made and that he had not helped lower taxes in the district but rather had voted to raise them. Bryan had also been accused of pursuing his own agenda rather than focusing on the betterment of the school. Bryan responded that he would not resign and that he felt that the accusations were not true.[2]
