Jesse Heitner
Jesse Heitner was a 2018 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 1st Congressional District of New Mexico.[1] Heitner did not appear on the official candidate list.[2]
This seat became open when incumbent Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) announced she was running in New Mexico's 2018 gubernatorial election.[3] The National Republican Congressional Committee selected this district as one of its top 36 targets for the midterm elections.[4]

Biography
Heitner graduated from the Harvard School of Public Health with a doctorate in global health and population. He also holds two bachelor's degrees in molecular and cell biology and the political economy of industrial societies from U.C Berkeley. He worked in research and as head of data analysis at Veritas Health Systems.[5]
