Jesse Monoski is seeking to represent us as the next Democratic state representative for the 103rd District, previously held by rep. Patty Kim. This district includes: Camp Hill, East Pennsboro Township, Lemoyne, Wormleysburg, and most of Harrisburg.

With over a decade of combined experience in state and local government, including his recent role as an executive director for the PA Senate Democratic caucus focusing on consumer protection laws, Jesse is ready to work for us in the halls of Harrisburg on day one!

Born and raised and living in Cumberland County, Jesse and his wife are twice elected Democratic committee people, and Jesse is currently serving his second term on Borough council.

Beyond public service, Jesse is proudest of his family. He's a husband to Sydney, his grade school sweetheart & a teacher in Enola, and a father to their two daughters, Jordan and Lainey.
  • I will defend Pro-Choice laws in Pennsylvania. I am proud to have received a 100% rating from Planned Parenthood PA Advocates for my candidacy in this race. Demonstrating my commitment to protecting reproductive healthcare for all Pennsylvanians.
  • I will protect Senior benefits programs and fight to lower their costs. My experience as an Executive Director for the Pennsylvania Senate, specializing in consumer protection laws provides me with the knowledge and ability to deliver on this promise to our seniors.
  • I am focused on working family issues, which includes lowering childcare and healthcare costs for our low and middle class residents in the district.
Public Education/Childcare.

I was a public school kid, raised by a family with educators and I'm married to a teacher. I care deeply about public education and investing in our schools and students. That means making an investment at an early age (Pre-K) which has a positive impact on their success rate but also gives families the ability to advance their careers and for communities to thrive.
My mother. She raised me and my younger sister, despite a challenging childhood and life of her own. Her determination, work ethic, and compassion for others has inspired me to be in public service and to raise my daughters to be equally as strong in their lives.
"The Audacity of Hope" by Barack Obama has shaped my political philosophy by emphasizing the importance of unity, empathy, and pragmatic solutions to address complex issues. It underscores the need for inclusive policies that prioritize the well-being of all citizens, regardless of background or circumstance. Obama's emphasis on hope and progress has inspired my belief in the power of government to enact positive change and uplift communities.
Integrity, accountability, transparency, empathy, and dedication to serve the public's interests are crucial for elected officials.

I've learned as much as the longest serving elected official running in this race and through my efforts meeting voters on the campaign trail. Voters in our area desperately want candidates they can trust and believe will deliver for them.

I have proven as much in my capacity to date in public office, and will do so continuously for the communities I serve.
My determination and empathy drive me to serve constituents tirelessly, listening to their needs and fighting for solutions that improve their lives.
Be an advocate for your constituency and deliver for YOU.

With 8 years in the Pennsylvania Senate, including serving as an Executive Director for the Democratic Caucus, I am well-prepared to advocate for our district. No matter my title, I've remained actively engaged in constituent services. As your next state representative, I'll ensure state government works for you, drawing on my experience and dedication to deliver results for our community. My track record demonstrates my ability to be a strong advocate, and I am committed to continuing this advocacy on behalf of our district.
I want to leave this district and the communities I serve, better off than they were when I was first elected. In whatever way that might be.
9/11. In first grade. I recall overwhelming feeling of sadness among my mom and the adults I knew. I also remember the strong feeling of community and patriotism in the days and weeks following the tragedy. I remember that aspect fondly as a child.
At 15 years old I worked at a Giant food stores, stocking shelves and bagging groceries. I worked their through highschool part time. Being raised by a single mother, it helped support my financial goals and save for my education.
My favorite book is "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee. It's a classic. It's powerful message about fairness and compassion has always stuck with me.
I'd be Atticus Finch from "To Kill a Mockingbird." His integrity, compassion, and commitment to justice inspire me.
Being raised by a single mother, the oldest child, I had to encounter a lot of firsts. The first to go to college. The first to buy a home. And many more examples. I have learned a lot from these experiences and have been motivated to help others facing similar obstacles in their lives.
The ideal relationship between the governor and state legislature is one of collaboration and mutual respect, focused on enacting policies that benefit all citizens and advance an agenda for social justice, economic equality, and environmental sustainability.
In the next decade, Pennsylvania must address critical challenges such as staffing shortages in healthcare and childcare. Lowering costs for middle-class families in these areas is paramount. With the endorsement of PASNAP, representing over 10,000 frontline nurses and allied healthcare professionals in Pennsylvania, I am committed to tackling these issues head-on. By investing in healthcare and childcare infrastructure, we can ensure access to quality services while supporting our workforce and families.
Yes, previous experience in government or politics is beneficial for state legislators. As a twice-elected Democratic councilman and the longest-serving elected official in this race, I've gained the public's trust. My re-elections attest to this trust, positioning me as the best candidate to effectively serve our communities. Additionally, my experience as a former Executive Director for the Senate Democratic Caucus provides valuable insight into how to navigate and be effective within state government once elected.
Yes, building relationships with other legislators is crucial for effective governance. Over my near decade of experience working in the state Senate, I've prioritized forging relationships across the aisle and within the General Assembly. These connections facilitate collaboration, foster bipartisan cooperation, and enable the passage of meaningful legislation that benefits our constituents.
I admire Senator Bob Casey Jr. for his advocacy on behalf of working families, healthcare, and veterans. His commitment to bipartisan cooperation and addressing critical issues serves as an inspiration for my own approach to public service.
No. I am focused entirely on serving this district and my neighbors as your next State Representative. I feel I can be most connected and therefore effective at this state house level.
During a visit to Linden Terrace in Harrisburg, I saw firsthand how broken elevators trapped elderly residents. Hearing their stories and seeing their living conditions deeply moved me. I spoke up to city and state officials, and thankfully, one elevator got fixed, and code enforcement stepped in. I'm just doing what I can to help, and I'll keep pushing for better conditions for our seniors.
Why don't scientists trust stairs? Because they're always up to something!
The legislature should oversee emergency powers, balancing oversight with the need for executive flexibility to act swiftly in emergencies. Delays can harm people and recovery efforts.
My first bill would build on the existing early childhood education programs that have demonstrated success, therefore extending affordable childcare to middle-class working families in our district and across Pennsylvania. My bill would establishe a Childcare Assistance Program funded by employer tax credits, ensuring affordable, quality childcare and supporting workforce participation. Helping working families advance their family and career goals without the high cost burden of childcare holding them back.

I'm interested in serving on the Judiciary Committee, to be active in safeguarding Pro-Choice laws and driving criminal justice reforms. My background as a Senate staffer would also position me well to serve on the House Consumer Protection Committee, where I can continue to advocate for lower utility costs and advocate for protections for seniors. Furthermore, I'm eager to join the Education Committee to support our public school teachers and work towards more equitable funding for schools in the 103rd district, including Harrisburg, East Pennsboro Area, Camp Hill, and West Shore School Districts.
I support several reforms to better financial transparency and government accountability. This includes implementing a Gift Ban, limiting campaign contributions, and independent redistricting reform. Transparency in financial reporting is crucial to prevent misuse of public funds and uphold trust in our democratic institutions.
