Jesse Sbaih (Democratic Party) ran for election to the U.S. Senate to represent Nevada. He lost in the Democratic primary on June 12, 2018.

Sbaih was a 2016 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 3rd Congressional District of Nevada. Sbaih was defeated by Jacky Rosen in the Democratic primary.[1]

Nevada's 3rd Congressional District was a battleground district in 2016. Republican incumbent Joe Heck, who began serving in Congress in 2010, chose to seek election to the Senate in 2016, leaving the seat open. Jacky Rosen (D) defeated Danny Tarkanian (R), David Goossen (Independent), and Warren Markowitz (Independent American) in the general election on November 8, 2016. Rosen defeated five other Democrats to win the primary, while Tarkanian defeated six primary opponents. The primary elections took place on June 14, 2016.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][1][12]

  • Immigration: Jesse Supports a path to Citizenship for all un-documented workers, who are currently living and working peacefully in the U.S., and are otherwise obeying the law. Jesse recognizes the urgent need to secure our borders and believes the best way accomplish this is by increasing manpower along the border, creating new jobs. He also believes we can enhance border security using technology.
  • Jobs: Jesse proposes looking to building infrastructure and seizing on Nevada’s competitive advantage in wind and solar to help develop a new, more robust economy for the residents of the 3rd Congressional District. “These are high paying, blue collar jobs that can put Nevadans back to work.” Sbaih explains. “I want people to be able to provide a wonderful life for their families.”
  • Education: Sbaih thinks that if America is going to win the future that we have to start investing in our kids at an early age and give them the opportunity for a first-class college education.
  • Veterans Affairs: It breaks my heart to see homeless veterans. This should not happen in America. These heroes put their lives on the line so we can be safe, and enjoy the Freedoms this Country has to offer. We need to ensure businesses put them to work when they come home. It’s also time to have a real conversation about homelessness and the stress and trauma that follow the horrors of war, and often go untreated.
  • Take Back Our Democracy: “Citizens United is among the worst decisions any court has made in the United States.” Sbaih says “it allowed an uncontrolled flow of dark money into politics, it allowed billionaires to buy elections, and it has disenfranchised our people.”
