My name is Jesse T. Thompson, candidate for Louisiana Public Service Commission District 3 on the upcoming Nov. 8th ballot. As a viable & qualified candidate, I’m offering voters a choice in electing (me) our next PSC Commissioner. I am a self-employed Louisiana Professional Civil Engineer with relevant education and 20+ years relevant work experience with essential public utilities (much of what the PSC is tasked to regulate). I am a lifelong resident of Iberville Parish, near Plaquemine and married to my best friend, Sarah Prestridge Thompson which we are proud parents of three school age children. I am the product of our LA public school system and LSU College of Engineering. I have a lifetime of experience of working both hard & smart and I do whatever it takes to get the job done, correctly. I have the relevant background and skillsets to best serve the public as our next Commissioner. I have worked with (indirectly for) the public most of my adult life and by keeping the public's interest in front and doing what is right, I've gained the public's trust everyday the last 20+ years. Engineer Creed: To protect the public welfare and do what is in betterment of the community public. My name is Jesse T. Thompson, candidate for LA Public Service Commission District 3; I humbly ask for your consideration and vote.
  • It is critically important we elect a Commissioner who understands the role of the PSC and the responsibility of protecting the public welfare, one that has the necessary background and can effectively regulate for the betterment of our community. I believe I am the best qualified "candidate of choice" to serve as our next Commissioner.
  • I have 50 years of life experience to know that everybody is someone and we should do what’s right simply because it’s the right thing to do. I’ve had the pleasure to work with (indirectly for) the public most of my adult life and doing good for the public is simple - just communicate, keep the public’s interest in front, and treat people fair and truthful— the public deserves this. I look at this PSC election as an opportunity to elect someone (me) who aligns well with most people and is for what is “just & fair” for all of us.
  • This election will come down to 1 or 2 simple questions for voters to decide. First, do you want change? If so, then do you want to elect me as your next Commissioner who is best qualified with the relevant public utilities background, a problem solver, and one that will look after the public’s interest and holds the welfare of the public most important OR will you look to choose another candidate you may feel you better align with? Whomever you choose to represent all of us in District 3, I respect that and believe one should always vote for whom they believe is best. All the above stated is what I believe sets me apart from other candidates as the best “candidate of choice” to be our next PSC Commissioner.
1. Essential Public Utilities - especially our public drinking water and wastewater systems and the source waters we all rely on for life/health.
2. Our underground pipelines and other modes of material transports and safeguarding our community public.
