I was born in Stevens Point and grew up in the small village of Westfield, in central Wisconsin. My parents are from the Platteville area in the southwest part of the district, where much of my family still resides. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a bachelor's degree in public relations. While attending the university I met my husband, Cody, who is from Altoona. He has family throughout the district in Wisconsin Rapids, Stevens Point, Pepin, Prescott and Boscobel.

After graduating college, I worked for nearly five years in the Twin Cities in public relations for two municipalities outside of Minneapolis. In my role, I was a conduit between the public and the government. I saw how limited, local government could be accessible and accountable and properly work for and serve the constituents. I enjoyed the role of public service and knew I would return to it someday.

My husband and I moved back home to Wisconsin a few years ago and now live in Eau Claire, where I work in public relations and am involved in different committees and boards in the Chippewa Valley.

The policy areas that I am particularly passionate about are the problems that are right out our front door - the issues that we can see, feel and improve at a local level. There are many policies we can improve that will help communities thrive, such as prioritizing funding for infrastructure - so roads, bridges and broadband internet can help our communities not just survive, but thrive.
An elected official needs to communicate well, be honest and transparent, and work diligently for the priorities of their constituents. A strong elected official is not motivated by power, but by the people. A representative should serve and be a liaison for the constituents to the federal government.
One of the greatest challenges we face as a nation in the next decade is the national debt, which is currently at $23 trillion. We need to have a balanced budget and make smart cuts to prioritized spending on vital government functions. The national debt is something that representatives have not taken seriously and pushed off each and every year, but my generation and many others know that we will soon feel the terrible effects of this prolonged problem.
One of the most important challenges we are dealing with is ending abortion and fighting for the lives of the unborn. It is devastating that this is even an issue we have to debate at any level of government or society. We need to end abortion and we need to re-prioritize family and the value of life in this country. Just as our constitution says, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." Without life, there is no seeking of liberty and happiness.
The House Agriculture Committee is the first committee I would like to get appointed to as agriculture is a large industry in Wisconsin's 3rd Congressional District, which covers central and western Wisconsin. Not only is the current representative not on this committee, but no representative in Wisconsin is on it. The other committees that would be important to be on when representing the 3rd Congressional District are the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, the Committee on Education and Labor and the Committee on Veterans' Affairs as these committees cover topics that are of priority to the district.
A current representative who I respect and would like to model my work as a representative and legislator after is Rep. Jim Jordan. He works diligently for his district, state and country. He is well-prepared for committee work and therefore, makes a large impact during testimonies and hearings. He is well-versed in policy and procedure and speaks in clear, concise plain language. Overall, what I admire most about Rep. Jordan is that he works hard and fights hard for the people of his district and the American people.
I also have a deep respect for Rep. Elise Stefanik and the work she does to represent and prioritize her constituents and communities in her district. She always keeps her role as representative of her New York congressional district top priority and carries that responsibility throughout her work.
