|I grew up in Maryland and met my husband while still in high school. We have lived all over thanks to his time in the U.S. Army until he was medically retired and we decided to settle down in Mint Hill with our two daughters. It was during those years in the Army, that I volunteered through various leadership roles and developed a passion for helping people.
I'm also a bridge builder. Not a literal one, but a figurative one. I love to bridge the gap between people, ideas and organizations through effective communication. I have a background in journalism and currently work as a digital marketer.
Currently I serve in many volunteer roles in our community including ambassador for the Mint Hill Chamber of Commerce, Vice President of the Mint Hill Kiwanis, Secretary for VFW Post 4059 Ladies Auxiliary, Mint Hill Events Board Member and Secretary for the Save Bain Committee.
I was inspired to run by Tina Ross, her loss is felt all around us and I intend to try to fill her void, a little, those are big shoes to fill, but I'm going to do my best.
My husband and I both own small businesses here and our daughters attend school here. I am invested in the continued success of our town and want to work with our citizens to open the lines of communication the way Tina did so that Mint Hill continues to be the wonderful town we all love.- I support "Community Led Change" we need to update our plans but first we need input from the community to know what direction we want to take our town in.
- I want to open the lines of communication in our town between the citizens and the Board of Commissioners and between the town and outside organizations.
- As our town grows, to keep that small-town feel, we need to invest in opportunities to connect with our neighbors through events and open communication.
I'm also passionate about planning and being proactive. I want our town to get ahead of the growth that's coming towards us so we can be intentional about it and make sure it is smart growth that benefits us in every way. Being reactionary will lead to our town losing its charm and small-town feel. I want to prevent that from happening.
