I'm a Mint Hill resident and local business owner who loves our town.

I grew up in Maryland and met my husband while still in high school. We have lived all over thanks to his time in the U.S. Army until he was medically retired and we decided to settle down in Mint Hill with our two daughters. It was during those years in the Army, that I volunteered through various leadership roles and developed a passion for helping people.

I'm also a bridge builder. Not a literal one, but a figurative one. I love to bridge the gap between people, ideas and organizations through effective communication. I have a background in journalism and currently work as a digital marketer.

Currently I serve in many volunteer roles in our community including ambassador for the Mint Hill Chamber of Commerce, Vice President of the Mint Hill Kiwanis, Secretary for VFW Post 4059 Ladies Auxiliary, Mint Hill Events Board Member and Secretary for the Save Bain Committee.

I was inspired to run by Tina Ross, her loss is felt all around us and I intend to try to fill her void, a little, those are big shoes to fill, but I'm going to do my best.

My husband and I both own small businesses here and our daughters attend school here. I am invested in the continued success of our town and want to work with our citizens to open the lines of communication the way Tina did so that Mint Hill continues to be the wonderful town we all love.
  • I support "Community Led Change" we need to update our plans but first we need input from the community to know what direction we want to take our town in.
  • I want to open the lines of communication in our town between the citizens and the Board of Commissioners and between the town and outside organizations.
  • As our town grows, to keep that small-town feel, we need to invest in opportunities to connect with our neighbors through events and open communication.
I am passionate about community. Great things happen when people come together and feel connected. As an Army spouse and volunteer, community, connection and communication were the cornerstones to helping families through the hardship of deployments and long absences. I know how powerful a strong community is and it is my personal goal to help foster greater connection through communication in everything I do.

I'm also passionate about planning and being proactive. I want our town to get ahead of the growth that's coming towards us so we can be intentional about it and make sure it is smart growth that benefits us in every way. Being reactionary will lead to our town losing its charm and small-town feel. I want to prevent that from happening.
The late Tina Ross, previous Mint Hill Commissioner is an absolute inspiration to me. Her kindness, thoroughness and passion are qualities I want to emulate. She was dedicated to our community and loved by everyone for the great work she did for our town. I hope to be able to fill the void she has left.
Honesty, integrity, and empathy I think are the most important characteristics for an elected official.
The core responsibility for anyone elected to office to to act on behalf of their constituents above all else, including themselves. I also believe they have a responsibility to communicate what is happening in the government and explain why certain decisions are made.
I want to make the world a better place and I believe that starts by doing what you can, with what you have, where you are. I want to leave a legacy that inspires and empowers others to rise up for what they believe in and create a closer, more connected community.
My first real job was working at Pizza Hut as a waitress I worked there throughout high school for just over 3 years.
I have so many favorite books, it's difficult to choose just one. I'd have to go with The Harry Potter series because of the emphasis it places on personal responsibility and choices. A very close second would be "The Catcher in the Rye" by JD Salinger because of how it explores perception and the difference between what is presented vs what is real.
Meg Murray from Madeline L'Engle's "A Wrinkle in Time" series.
Currently loving the song "Complainer" by Cold War Kids
I'm an over thinker sometimes and it can lead to doubting myself.
