I am a mom, former ESL teacher at UC Denver, attorney, and community advocate with a Masters in Comparative Politics. I’ve raised my stepkids in Arapahoe County with my husband Nick, and we’ve loved being part of the LPS community. I’ve protected our elections and the environment, helped reformed health care and housing as Chief of Staff to Rep. Iman Jodeh (HD41), and worked on campaigns and policy from the city to national level. I know how government works and I want to use that knowledge and experience to make Arapahoe a healthy, thriving, and sustainable community for all.
  • Our next Board of Commissioners will face a complex set of issues as we work to move forward. We will need to manage a strained budget, support and evaluate a new health department, address the rising cost of living, and respond to growing crises in housing and mental health. As your County Commissioner, I will bring a breadth and depth of policy experience and knowledge to the office. I know we can tackle those challenges while making our communities safer, balancing growth and sustainability, and energizing our local economy, making sure no one is left behind.
  • We must be proactive and intentional about how we manage our growth as we are expected to grow from 650k people in Arapahoe now to 875k by 2040. We must increase our housing options and ensure they are affordable across all income brackets and ages. And we must do this in a way that increases bike-ability, walkability, and access to public transportation or traffic will become untenable. In so doing, we can also reduce further harm to our environment by reducing water usage and carbon emissions as we set up healthy communities with close access to grocers, parks, and schools.
  • As your County Commissioner, I will put your tax dollars to use making a HEALTHY, THRIVING, and SUSTAINABLE Arapahoe County. Our health is the most important thing we have. Your health and well-being will be my number one priority. I will direct funds to support our health department and increase access to mental health care and continued access to reproductive health care. To thrive, our wages must extend beyond survival. So I will work to lower the cost of living - especially housing costs - while supporting economic development and our workforce development programs. All of this must be done with sustainability in mind. I will have a mind on our environment and our people. I will make government work for you.
Housing, mental health and health care reform, the environment and climate-friendly infrastructure, and elections/ the strength of our democracy. I also care deeply about education, equitable policies, criminal justice reform, and how we support workers and entrepreneurs.
I was seven when we invaded Iraq for the Gulf War. I remember seeing invasion footage on the tv.
Topsy's Popcorn at the mall when I was 15. Worked there for almost a year before becoming a hostess at Applebees.
