Jessica E. Price Smith
Jessica E. Price Smith is a judge on the United States bankruptcy court, Northern District of Ohio. She was appointed on August 22, 2011.[1][2]
Education
Judge Price Smith earned her bachelor's degree at Miami University and her J.D. at Ohio Northern University.[3][4]
Career
Prior to joining the bench, Judge Price Smith's practice focused on commercial bankruptcy and corporate debt restructurings at Brouse McDowell, where she became the firm's first African American partner.
As a judge, Price Smith was the first African American woman to be appointed to the Northern District of Ohio's bankruptcy court, and is one of the nine African American bankruptcy judges in the United States.[4][5]
