I have been an attorney for 12 years, and running my own business for 9 of those years. I have spent the entire 12 years practicing in civil law, handling the same types of cases that I would be deciding as a judge. I decided to run for this position because I had the judge take 6 months to make a decision after a three hour trial. That is unacceptable, and I believe the only way things get better is when people step up to make the changes necessary.

I want to take the skills and experience I have gained as a business owner and make our courts better and more efficient.

I have also spent the last 3 years gaining judicial experience. I am a court-appointed arbitrator, deciding cases up to $50,000, and appointed as a Las Vegas Municipal Court Alternate Judge and a Las Vegas Justice Court Judge Pro Tempore.

I have called Las Vegas home for the last 15 years, and it is where I am raising my family. I love this community, and I am committed to making our courts fair and more efficient.
  • I have 12 years of experience handling the types of cases as an attorney that I would be handling as a judge.
  • I want to increase the court's efficiency, and I have committed to making all decisions within 2 weeks of the hearing.
  • I want to make it easier for people to come to court, by allowing video and telephonic appearances.
As a judicial candidate, the ethical rules prohibit me from taking any stances on public policy. As it relates to the justice system, I am passionate about making the courts fair, more efficient and more accessible for everyone.

I believe everyone is entitled to have their story heard when they come to court. I also believe everyone is entitled to kindness, dignity and respect when they enter the courtroom. Our court system, especially the civil side, can be confusing for anyone not familiar with it. As a judge, I will make sure all people involved are heard and understood, as well as making sure they understand the process.

It is not secret that our court system has a huge backlog. If elected, I am committed to putting in the hours and days necessary to clear out the backlog, as well as ensure that cases are moving forward without unnecessary delays. As part of that, I am committed to making all decisions within 2 weeks of the hearing.

Finally, the pandemic showed us that court can be more accessible to everyone through the use of video and telephonic conferencing. If elected, telephonic and video appearances will be available for all parties to use, so that they can avoid the time and expense of coming to the courthouse for every hearing.
When I was a teenager, I babysat for various family and friends. Once I turned 16, I worked for JCPenney through high school and college. On the professional side, my first attorney job was at Marquis Aurbach Coffing for a little more than 2 years.
When most people think of Justice Court, they think of criminal law. But, Las Vegas Justice Court, Dept. 6 is currently one of the civil law departments of Justice Court, which means it handles cases where people are suing other people for money up to $15,000. This includes breaches of contracts, neighbor disputes, damage to property, landlord/tenant disputes, minor car crashes, and anything else where someone is asking to be paid for something that was done to them.
Empathy is incredibly important. If you are involved in the court system, that means something has went wrong in your life-either someone didn't pay you, or your property was damaged, or alternatively, someone says that you owe them money. In that situation, you want a judge that will listen to you, hear your story, and try to understand where you're coming from.
It's not quite a Bar Association rating, but I am rated AV-Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell, which is generally the gold standard in rating attorneys for ethics and competency.
