I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy, and have been practicing for 21 years. I have owned private practices for over 14 years, and I am an Associate Professor at CU School of Medicine. In 2014, I was the recipient of the Physical Therapist of the Year Award and have advocated for patients in multiple ways via the American Physical Therapy Association throughout my career. For the past 13 years, my husband and I have benefitted from the support and education that Cheyenne Mountain School District 12 has provided to our two children. Having been involved in CMSD12 for 13 years, I have witnessed the extraordinary educators, administrators and staff as they go above and beyond for our students. For the past 10 years, I have been at the District Accountability and Accreditation Committee (DAAC) table alongside District leadership. I currently serve as the Vice Chair of DAAC. In this role I design, run and report on the Parent Survey. Being at this table has provided me with a unique perspective on our strengths and weaknesses as a District. In this way, I believe I am uniquely suited to serve on the CMSD12 Board of Education.
  • I am committed to continuing to support our strengths: Academics, Arts and Athletics through our Tradition of Excellence.
  • Continuing transparency for students, parents and constituents of D12. Effective communication is the foundation of trust, thus I am committed to fostering communication to build bridges within our small community.
  • Taking comprehensive measures to facilitate the safety (both emotional and physical) of our students and staff.
Open access to high quality public education is an area of public policy that I'm passionate about, as well as fostering transparency and communication about policy to members of our community.
I was a babysitter for Rick and Annie Waits and their three children. My sister and I both babysat for this family for many years. He was a baseball pitcher for Cleveland, and thus I will always be a Guardians fan!
School Board members create policy based upon State laws, factoring in the needs of constituents as well as budgetary considerations.
Students, Staff and members of our community at large.
