Rohloff ran in the 2012 election for Minnesota House of Representatives District 17B. She was defeated by Mary Sawatzky in the Democratic primary on August 14. Incumbent Bruce Vogel ran unopposed in the Republican primary.[1][2]

Rohloff opposes defunding of the public education system. On taxes, she says, "Let’s support a tax structure that values companies that reinvest in Minnesota. We must guard against overburdening our seniors and others on a fixed low-income from regressive sales tax, users fees and property taxes."[3]
