For the past 20 years I have volunteered in my neighborhood, at my local elementary schools, with theater organizations, for scouts, and for animal welfare organizations. I've mentored teens, and encouraged moms making the transition back to the workforce after staying at home. I've supported neighbors starting their small businesses, and helped friends and acquaintances find healthcare providers.

As candidate for HD 74, I'm taking this dedicated service to my community one step further.

I believe we each have something to learn from each other, and we all belong in the conversation to improve Virginia.
  • Strong public schools are crucial to Virginia's continued success. Our children deserve to master the critical thinking skills needed to examine our past, and the innovative problem solving skills needed to move us forward. Education should be based in fact, use proven teaching methods, and adequately funded.
  • Every Virginian deserves equal rights, at home, in the workplace, and at the doctor's office. We must trust our neighbors to make the best personal decisions for themselves.
  • Economic opportunity can be improved with better access to mental healthcare and reforming our gun laws. Both are necessary for a prosperous Virginia. Citizens should be assured of their safety at at school, at work, and in the community. Access to mental health services should be supported by our laws.
Civil liberties, education, and healthcare are all interconnected. I am fortunate I've had access to education and healthcare when others haven't and we need to level the field so indiduals in our state are empowered to better their lives.
Opportunity equity will help our communities prosper financially, physically, and socially.
