I was born, raised, and live in Callaway County. Educated at South Callaway Schools, I was an active member in FFA, a cheerleader, spanish club member, and volunteer at the Callaway Senior Center. I chose to stay in my home county for my higher education, attending Westminster College, majoring in political science. My husband and I enjoy living just a few miles from the house I grew up in. We love the abundant farmland, rural community, history, and country recreational activities such as front porch sitting, hunting, backyard bonfires, fishing, and potluck dinners. I have the drive and compassion to make sure all people are heard in our beautiful state of Missouri. My goal is to put REAL people back in the people’s house.
  • Having previously worked in healthcare I am distraught by the high cost of life saving medications when the cost to manufacture these are pennies per dose. Healthcare should not be a luxury but a fundamental right. When our citizens are healthy, they are able to focus on what's important. Being healthy enough to pursue a career, start a family, travel and have fun will also have a positive outcome for the economy and general outlook on life for our communities.
  • I am here to stand up for what my constituents need and make all voices heard. We are all the same and deserve to live a life rich in kindness, love, and grace. Ensuring that the resources we do have are going where they are needed, such as healthcare for all, making sure children are provided for, keeping families together and safe, providing sick time, and encouraging our youth to dream big and achieve bigger! Together we can do anything we put our minds to. We just need someone to help lead us in that direction and I will be that person.
  • One of the most under appreciated and underpaid jobs in the state is teachers. The children are our future, why are we constantly asking them to do more with less? I plan on looking into the budget to see where our tax dollars are going, why we are not accepting the help being given, and supporting all methods of educating the future. Not only do our public schools need help, but so do schools like the Missouri School for the Deaf in Fulton Missouri. I will support all of Missouri's children in getting an education that works for them.
Law enforcement, healthcare, and education.
Directly representing the voice of the people in their district. I am running not for my party, but for all of my constituents who may have different views than I personally do.
The first major historical event in my lifetime that I remember was 9/11. I had just turned 11 years old and was in 5th grade. It started off as any other normal school day until my class went to music, when we returned to the classroom our teacher told us what had happened and the other 5th grade classes got together in the science room to watch the coverage on TV. From that day forward my childhood would be spent learning and worrying about who else would in my family would have to go overseas or if they would return. Graduating High School in 2009, many of my classmates left to join the military to go fight in the war. I will always remember the talks about what had happened growing up and the fears my parents had that were revealed to me as I got older.
The state legislature should be able to take care of day to day tasks so that the governor can focus on emergencies that occur.
Being able to ask someone who is knowledgeable in a specific field their opinion and experience is imperative to effective operating. We should not make laws about things we know nothing about. Building those relationships with other legislators who have been through similar issues would benefit all.
To make laws that work we have to be able to learn about all ways it will impact our residents. Without being able to compromise, we cannot make the best laws for our citizens.
