Four of the seven seats on the Sacramento City Unified School District Board of Education were supposed to be up for by-district general election on November 8, 2016. The election was canceled, however, due to lack of opposition. Incumbent Christina Pritchett, newcomer Michael Minnick, newcomer Mai Vang, and incumbent Jessie Ryan were the only candidates to file for the Area 3, 4, 5, and 7 seats, respectively. Because of this, they were elected to the board by default.[1]

Results
