Jesus Gonzalez (Republican Party) ran for election to the U.S. House to represent New York's 6th Congressional District. He did not appear on the ballot for the Republican primary on August 23, 2022.
Biography
Jesus Gonzalez was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico. Gonzalez earned a bachelor's degree in business administration with a minor in business management and accounting from the Universidad Del Turabo in 2005. He earned a master's degree in business administration with a minor in human resources administration from the Universidad Del Turabo in 2007. While living in Puerto Rico, Gonzalez was a member of the Puerto Rico Civil Defense and worked as a firefighter, emergency medical paramedic, coordinator of the HomeLand Security program, and instructor for the Puerto Rico Fire Academy. Gonzalez's community involvement includes working in various capacities for the Queens Centennial Lions Club, including as president, treasurer, and the Lions Club International Federation coordinator. His professional experience includes working as a human resources manager in New York City.[1][2]

Elections for the New York State Assembly took place in 2014. A primary election took place on September 9, 2014. The general election took place on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was July 10, 2014. Incumbent Francisco Moya was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Jesus Gonzalez was removed from the ballot before the Republican primary. Moya also ran on the Working Families Party ticket. Moya was unchallenged in the general election.[7][8][9]

|At the age of 16, (while attending high school) Jesus started serving his community in Cayey, Puerto. As the youngest volunteer fire fighter on the Island, he worked every day after school (including weekends). He attended emergency medical technician courses; including volunteering with the national civil defense organization, where he trained for terrorism preparedness with the Puerto Rican Government. Jesus also participated in the Home Land Security readiness program in Puerto Rico, and served as the administrative coordinator for the Puerto Rico Fire Academy.
Upon graduation from High school, Jesus became the first member of his family to attend college. In 2005, he graduated from the Universidad Del Turabo with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, and a minor in Business Management and Accounting.
