Jim Austin
Jim Austin was an at-large member of the Amarillo Independent School District school board in Texas. Austin assumed office in 2002. Austin left office in 2019.
Austin ran for re-election for an at-large seat of the Amarillo Independent School District school board in Texas. Austin lost in the general election on May 4, 2019.
He was first elected in 2002.
Biography
When he served on the school board, Austin was a business owner. He had operated businesses throughout his career, including banking, oil and gas development and production, cattle and farming, real estate development and holdings, manufacturing, business consumable distribution, and USPS mail sorting and bulk mail services. He received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Texas Tech University in 1974. As of 2015, he and his wife, Ann, had two sons who graduated from Amarillo ISD.[1]
