I am a lifelong Missourian, who grew up in the small towns of rural MIssouri. I was the first in my family to graduate high school and with the help of Federal Pell Grants and student loans got a degree from Missouri State. While in college I also served in the U.S. Army Reserves and the Oklahoma National Guard. My family and I have lived in Liberty, MO for the past 19 years. My wife Leslie is a school counselor at a title one elementary school. My oldest daughter is an acting major at Missouri State and a graduate of Liberty High School. My other daughter is also attending Missouri State majoring in stage management. She is also a graduate of LHS. My son is still attending LHS and considering his college choices. My life has had its ups and downs and many sleepless nights trying to pay the bills and provide for our family. So I have experiences all too common to the people of this district.
  • I stand for public education and for making the public school system in Missouri the best in the Nation. I will oppose the use of your public tax dollars on non-public schools.
  • I will support real tax relief that has a real impact on the working men and women of Missouri. Such as zero sales tax on food, diapers, and feminine hygiene products. Support a livable minimum wage. Will fight for more union jobs in Missouri, because more union jobs mean better jobs for everyone.
  • I will fight tooth and nail to make sure that healthcare in Missouri is affordable, accessible and private. Your healthcare decisions should be between you, your family, and your doctor. Not Jefferson City politicians.
I am passionate about that working men and women of Missouri are able to send their kids to a great local public school. That they can afford healthcare and that the care is close to them. That politicians in Jefferson City do their jobs which is to make life better for all Missouri citizens. Instead of bending to the will of the wealthy and corporations. And that those same politicians stay out of the lives of the citizens they were sent to Jefferson City to serve.
The most important principle is to remember that you were elected to a glorified customer service job. Your role is to serve your constituents to the best of your ability. That means being transparent, listening to their concerns, and in the end voting your conscience. You are to work to make life better for your constituents.
I was an umpire for little league baseball and softball. I had the job for two summers after my junior and senior years of high school.
As an elected official you should be as transparent as possible and held to the highest ethical standards.
I strongly oppose changes to the ballot initiative process. This allows the citizens of Missouri to have a clear and strong voice in the direction of our state. This is especially important when the state legislature refuses to listen to the voice of the people.
