I'm a proud product of Cincinnati Public Schools and a Walnut Hills High School graduate. I've dedicated my career to our community. My extensive business experience, having previously served as a Chief Financial Officer, provided me the skills to volunteer on the CPS Audit Committee for over twenty years before being appointed to fill a vacancy on the Board in August of 2024.
  • Student Outcomes: Our students deserve to go to school in a welcoming and safe environment. Their creativity and academic rigor should be fostered, and they should be presented with post-educational options ranging from workforce entry, secondary education, and trades.
  • Financial Responsibility: As an accountant and business executive, I know about bookkeeping and making ends meet. In the ever increasingly difficult financial world of public education in Ohio, I'm dedicated to working with community stakeholders to find sustainable solutions to CPS’ budgetary challenges.
  • Supporting Teachers: Our teachers work long hours, for not enough pay, and frequently feel undersupported. We must advocate for our teachers, and work to support them. If our teachers are stressed and overworked, our students see worse outcomes.
I'm passionate about advocating for fair school funding. We must be advocates at the legislative level in Columbus. We must look carefully at our programs and staff to see what provides the best impact for student outcomes from an ROI point of view. This can be one guide for how to prioritize expenses. Additionally, we can partner with local government, community organizations, parents & volunteers to find creative solutions that provide the best education possible at CPS.
Both of my parents were educators, and they instilled in me a love of learning. I want to continue my work on the Board as a way to honor their legacy and to give back to the community.
Since being appointed to the Board, I have worked to build relationships with all of our key stakeholders across the community. In less than a year, I have toured the majority of our school buildings, met with teachers, administrators, students, and parents. I have engaged with community leaders, from community councils, business leaders, union leaders, nonprofit partners, and Columbus-based education policymakers. In addition to my own personal outreach, I ensure that I work with other board members to ensure that we consider the voices of every stakeholder when making key decisions.
