Jim Greenlee was a judge for Position 1 of the Mississippi Court of Appeals District 1. He assumed office in 2016. He left office on June 30, 2024.

Greenlee ran for re-election for the Position 1 judge of the Mississippi Court of Appeals District 1. He won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

He was appointed by Republican Governor Phil Bryant on January 20, 2016. Judge Greenlee succeeded Jimmy Maxwell, who was appointed to the Mississippi Supreme Court in 2015.[1] Greenlee was elected in November 2016 to the remainder of Maxwell's term.

Greenlee retired on June 30, 2024. [2]

Education

Greenlee received his J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1981 and a bachelor's degree in engineer from the University of Mississippi in 1974.[1][3]

Career

Greenlee served as the U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Mississippi from 2001 to 2010. Before that, he worked as an assistant U.S. attorney in the Criminal Division of the Attorney General's office from 1987 to 2001.[1][3]
