Recall supporters

The Calimesa Citizens for Responsible Development served Hyatt with the notice of intent to recall prior to a November 2 council meeting. This group argued that Hyatt should have been recalled from office for his role in delaying council action on regulating warehouse development in the city. The notice also criticized Hyatt for not representing the interests of city residents.[1]

Response by Jim Hyatt

Hyatt said that he supported the right of citizens to recall officials and he would defend his record.[1] Hyatt also cited his 17-year tenure on the council as a motivation for the recall effort.[2]
