Jim McReynolds was a Democratic member of the Texas House of Representatives. He represented District 12 from 1997 to 2010.

Biography

McReynolds' professional experience includes owning Chapparel Energy Incorporated. He has previously worked as a history professor at Stephen F. Austin State University, research assistant to Miss Ima Hogg, Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, and a public school teacher in the Port Arthur Independent School District.

He has served on the board of the Boys and Girls Club, been a member of the Philosophical Society of Texas, and as a founder/member of Project Belize.[1]

McReynolds ran for re-election to the 12th District seat in 2010. He had no opposition in the March 2nd primary. Republican James White defeated McReynolds in the general election on November 2, 2010.[3]
