Jim Ridling
Jim Ridling was the Alabama Commissioner of Insurance. Ridling assumed office on September 15, 2008. Ridling left office on May 1, 2022.
Ridling was appointed to the position on September 15, 2008, by Republican Gov. Bob Riley.[1]
Biography
Ridling was born in Arkansas, but has spent most of his life between California and Alabama. He graduated from the University of the Ozarks and began a nearly 20-year career in the insurance management business in California. He later returned to "his native south," where he has remained ever since.[2]
Before becoming insurance commissioner, Ridling was the president and CEO of Southern Guaranty Insurance Co. Before that, he was executive vice president of U.S. Operations at Fireman's Fund Insurance.[2]

Ridling took office as commissioner on September 15, 2008, and was re-appointed on January 17, 2011.[3][4]
