A special election for the position of Missouri House of Representatives District 144 was held on February 6, 2018. The filing deadline for candidates to run in this election was December 5, 2017.[1]
The seat became vacant on September 20, 2017, after Paul Fitzwater (R) resigned to join the state Board of Probation and Parole.[2]
Chris Dinkins (R) defeated Jim Scaggs (D) in the special election.[1][3]
