Biography
Jim Shalleck was born in New York, New York. He served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1974. He earned a bachelor's degree from Tulane University in 1967 and a law degree from New York Law School in 1970. His career experience includes working in private law practice, as an assistant district attorney, as the Bronx district attorney for the homicide bureau, as the assistant attorney general for New York state, and as an attorney for the antitrust division of the US Justice Department. Shalleck is affiliated with the Montgomery County Bar Association.[1]

|- My priority will be to reduce violent and repeat crimes in Maryland. These offenders must be prosecuted with no plea bargaining and deals.
- I will set-up a Major Offense Bureau to assist or replace local prosecutors in the prosecution of these violent and repeat offenders. Further, I will support the police and seek more funding for police departments.
- I will protect individuals from wrongful convictions and seek alternatives to prison for non-violent young offenders and those with non-violent offenses who are not repeat offenders.
