Jim Tucker
Jim Tucker is a former Republican member of the Louisiana House of Representatives. He represented the 86th District from 2002 to 2012, and formerly served as Speaker of the House. He was also a candidate for Louisiana Secretary of State in the 2011 Louisiana statewide elections, but lost in the primary to incumbent Tom Schedler.
Tucker is an investment banker and real estate developer.
He is Chairman of the Louisiana Republican Legislative Delegation, and a member of the Jefferson Parish Legislative Delegation and the Orleans Delegation.[1]
In May 2011, Governing Magazine named Tucker one of 17 "GOP Legislators to Watch." Each of the legislators was selected on the basis of qualities like leadership, ambition, and political potential.[2]

Elections
2011
Tucker announced on August 8, 2011 that he would run for Louisiana Secretary of State in the 2011 Louisiana statewide elections.[3] Tucker lost to Republican incumbent Tom Schedler in the October 22 open primary.
