Jim Van Volkinburg

Jim Van Volkinburg represented Trustee Area 3 on the Clovis Unified School District Board of Education in California. He first joined the board in 1993.[1][2] Van Volkinburg did not file to run for re-election in 2018.
Biography
In addition to serving on the Clovis Unified Board of Education, Van Volkinburg is a member of the Fresno-Madera Dental Society, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the California Society of Periodontics and the American Academy of Periodontology. He earned his bachelor's degree from California State University at Sacramento, his D.D.S. from Creighton University and his periodontic specialty certificate from the University of California at San Francisco's Medical Center. Van Volkinburg maintains a periodontal practice in the Fresno and Clovis area. His three children all attended schools in the Clovis Unified School District.[1]

Three seats on the Clovis Unified School District Board of Education were up for general election on November 4, 2014. Incumbents Sandra A. Bengel, Jim Van Volkinburg and Betsy Sandoval from Trustee Areas 1, 3 and 6, respectively, ran unopposed and won re-election by default.
These three incumbents also ran unopposed in 2010.

This election was canceled due to lack of opposition. Incumbents Sandra A. Bengel, Jim Van Volkinburg and Betsy Sandoval from Trustee Areas 1, 3 and 6, respectively, won re-election to their seats by default.[2]
Funding
Van Volkinburg reported $1,041.35 in contributions and $1,450.00 in miscellaneous increases to cash to the Fresno County Registrar of Voters. He also reported $2,491.35 in expenditures, leaving his campaign with a $0.00 balance as of September 30, 2014.[3]
