I grew up outside of Reading, PA the son of a single mother and a grandmother who was widowed early in life. I came to Erie in 1997 to attend Edinboro University. There, I began working for a local TV station, which is where I got my first union card. That first job in broadcasting gave me a valuable head start in learning all about Erie's geography and history. I started teaching at Edinboro University part-time in 2005 which is when I joined the faculty union (APSCUF) for the state system of higher education. Shortly after that, I started my own production company which went on to win awards.

From the time I became a full-time faculty member at Edinboro in 2009, I served in many leadership roles in our union including delegate to the Central Labor Council, Public Relations Chair, and statewide legislative assembly, but one of the most gratifying moments of my union membership was during our strike in 2016, during which I served as communications coordinator for Edinboro's chapter. In 2018, I ran for and won the chairmanship of the Erie County Democratic Party. As a party, we did a lot of work I am proud of including expanding the electorate and seeing an increase in voter turnout as well as prioritizing reaching voters across the county, including areas often ignored by candidates and campaigns.

I have been married to my college sweetheart, Kim, since 2007. We have three children, Ellie, Maddie, and August, and we live in Erie.
  • Defending democracy - I will oppose all voter suppression efforts and hold those who undermine our democracy accountable.
  • Protecting reproductive rights - all Pennsylvanians deserve access to affordable, full-spectrum reproductive healthcare including birth control, abortion care, and IVF.
  • Respecting workers - all work deserves respect, and that includes ensuring worker safety, higher wages, and protection of the right to organize
Education policy is near and dear to me as a productive of public schools, as a father of school-age children, and as an educator for almost 20 years. We have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fix our school funding model in Pennsylvania, and we need to take it.
My very first job was as a paperboy for the Reading Eagle. I had that for about two years.
My next job was at working at Lebo’s Pedal Parlor in Reading which is celebrating 50 years of business this year.
An ideal relationship between the legislature and the governor is one that is symbiotic and mutually beneficial to the people of the commonwealth (or state).
- The fact that we are almost last in funding for public education

- It is egregiously expensive for young people to attain higher education
- An aging workforce & population

- Decades-long de-emphasizing of skilled trades
Yes. Legislators who are elected without an idea of how government functions or how bills are passed spend a lot of time playing catch-up once elected.
Absolutely. The only way to get anything done in a legislative body is to work with other members.
