Jimmie Garland
Jimmie Garland (Democratic Party) is a member of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Board of Education in Tennessee, representing District 5. He assumed office in 2002. His current term ends on September 1, 2026.
Garland (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Clarksville-Montgomery County Board of Education to represent District 5 in Tennessee. He won in the general election on August 4, 2022.
Biography
Jimmie Garland is a resident of Montgomery County, Tennessee. Garland graduated from Caswell County High School before earning his bachelor's degree in business from The University of Maryland at College Park and his master's degree in business from Bethel College. He has served as the vice president of the Tennessee State Conference of the NAACP.[1] He spent 29 years as a member of the United States military.[2]

The general election in Clarksville-Montgomery County featured four seats up for election on August 7, 2014. Jimmie Garland won re-election in District 5 against Carmen Annette Gentry. Incumbents George Giles and Josh Baggett won their elections unopposed for Districts 1 and 7, respectively. District 3 newcomer Willie J. Freeman also won his election unopposed to join the board.
