Five of the nine seats on the Tipton County Schools Board of Education were up for by-district general election on August 4, 2016.[3] Isaiah Davidson ran unopposed and won the open District 1 seat. District 3 incumbent Jimmy "Marty" Burlison Jr., District 5 incumbent Farrel Vincent, and District 7 incumbent Alvis Ferrell also ran unopposed and won re-election to their seats. In the open District 9 race, Thomas Adams and Laurie McClerkin faced off, and McClerkin was elected to the seat.[1][4][2]
