This measure sought to increase the current extension limitation on property taxes to a rate of 6.5 percent for one year in order to update the county emergency radio system. It is estimated that for a house valued at $100,000 the increase would have amounted to $6.44 per year. The money would have gone towards updating the radio system which county officials needs to have better technology to ensure that all residents in the county are covered for emergency purposes.[2]

| SHALL THE EXTENSION LIMITATION UNDER THE PROPERTY TAX EXTENSION LIMITATION LAW FOR JO DAVIESS COUNTY, ILLINOIS, BE INCREASED FROM THE LESSER OF 5% OR THE PERCENTAGE INCREASE IN THE CONSUMER PRICE INDEX OVER THE PRIOR LEVY YEAR TO 6.5% PER YEAR FOR LEVY YEAR 2012.[3][4] |
