Joan Bray
Joan Bray (b. September 16, 1945) is a former Democratic member of the Missouri State Senate. She represented the 24th District from 2003 to 2011.
Bray earned her B.A. in English from Southwestern University in 1967. She went on to receive her MEd in Counseling and Human Relations from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 1970. She then earned her CAGS the following year.
Bray was an Editor for the San Antonio Express-News from 1976 to 1982. She then worked as Editor/Reporter for Saint Louis Post-Dispatch from 1983 to 1989. The following year she worked as a self-employed Freelance Journalist. From 1990 to 1992 she was District Director for Congresswoman Joan Kelly Horn. She has also worked as Adjunct Faculty Member for Webster University and Saint Louis University in 1993 and 1994, respectively.
Bray served in the Missouri State House of Representatives from 1992 to 2002. She then joined the Missouri State Senate in 2002. She has served in that position since, representing the 24th District.
Bray and her husband, Carl Hoagland, have two children.

Bray reached her term limits and was ineligible to run for re-election to the 2nd District seat in 2010. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.[1]
2006
On November 7, 2006, Bray won re-election to the 24th District Seat in the Missouri State Senate, defeating John Maupin (R).[2]
