Joan Carter
Joan Carter was a Republican member of the Tennessee House of Representatives, representing District 29. She was appointed to the seat in 2021, following the death of her husband Mike Carter, who previously represented the district.[1]
Biography
Joan Carter graduated from Ooltewah High School.[2] Carter earned a B.S. in education from Middle Tennessee State University.[2][3] Her career experience includes working as a teacher and co-operating a family storage business.[3]
Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
