I grew up in a family of eight children on the Grasswick family farm near Henning, Minnesota. Joan's mother was a busy homemaker and active in her church. Her father was a veteran of WWII. All the family worked on the farm raising livestock and garden produce. She graduated from Henning High School and the University of Minnesota.

Joan enjoys lake activities and the family tradition of hunting which she shares with her children.

Joan has three daughters and is a proud grandparent of eight grandchildren all of whom are enjoying a Minnesota upbringing. Joan has a always worked in our Community

Joan has a lifetime of experience serving our community in health care as an RN and as a Nursing Home Administrator.

Joan currently serves on the Lake Region Healthcare Foundation Board and on the Mill Street Residence Board.

  • I will promote our rural economy of farming, health care, retail, manufacturing.
  • I support traditional rural values of Respect for Life and freedom to defend ourselves under the Second Amendment.
i am passionate about preserving rural health care. It is not acceptable for large corporations from outside our area to buy up our nonprofit health care institutions and put them out of business or force our residents to travel long distances for their health care.
