Joan Kohout
Joan Kohout is a judge of the Monroe County Family Court in New York. She assumed office in 1988.

Education
Kohout received her B.A. degree from Skidmore College in 1971 and her J.D. degree from Albany Law School in 1974.[1][2][1]
Career
Kohout began her career in 1974 as a private practice lawyer with the firm of Powers & Katz in Albany, NY. She then worked for the Monroe County Public Defenders Office from 1976 to 1988, serving as a staff attorney in the Criminal and Family Courts and then a supervising attorney in the Family Court section. She joined the Family Court bench in 1988.[1]
