Three newcomers ran for the District 2 seat in the primary election on August 30, 2016: Kristi Burns, Pernell Mitchell, and Sandi Moore. Burns and Moore received the most votes, allowing them to advance to the general. Burns won the general election. In District 4, four newcomers competed for the seat in the primary: James Myers, Joan Rintlemann, Lou Buigas, and Sandy Gamble. Myers and Gamble advanced to the general election, with Gamble winning the seat.[1][2]
