Joan Welsh
Joan W. Welsh (b. June 17, 1940) is a former Democratic member of the Maine House of Representatives, representing District 94 from 2008 to 2016.
Welsh did not seek re-election to the Maine House of Representatives in 2016.
Biography
Welsh's professional experience includes working as the President/CEO of Hurricane Island Outward Bound, Deputy Director of the Natural Resources Council of Maine and Director of Student and Academic Affairs at Rockport College.

Elections for the Maine House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 10, 2014, and a general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for party candidates wishing to run in this election was March 17, 2014. The deadline for write-in candidates to run in the primary election was April 28, 2014, and the deadline for non-party candidates to run in the general election was June 2, 2014. The deadline for write-in candidates to run in the general election was September 22, 2014. District 46 incumbent Joan Welsh was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Carole Gartley was unopposed in the Republican primary but withdrew after the primary; Ronald Bovasso replaced her on the general election ballot. Welsh has three children.[15] She is Chair of the Knox County Committee of the Maine Community Foundation, and is a member of the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship Board, Maine Media Workshops Board, Common Good Ventures, Maine Development Foundation, Maine Women's Fund, and Riley School.[16]
