Kishner won 31.2% of the vote in the primary, advancing her to the general election for the [Nevada Eighth Judicial District Court|Eighth Judicial District Court]]. She defeated Phil Dabney in the general election, winning 50.44% of the vote.[3][4]

Education
Kishner received her undergraduate degree from Claremont McKenna College in 1986 and her J.D. degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law in 1989.[5]
Career
Before she became a judge, Kishner worked as an attorney for twenty years with the Las Vegas office of DLA Piper, as a senior counsel for Warner Bros., and as an associate with the firm of Paul Hastings Janofsky & Walker. She also previously served as a justice of the peace pro tem, as an arbitrator, as a pro tem small claims referee, and as a pro tem traffic court referee.[5]
2013 judicial performance evaluation
In 2013, the Las Vegas Review-Journal sponsored a survey of 902 lawyers who rated Nevada Supreme Court justices and judges located in Clark County. 69% of respondents voted in favor of keeping Kishner on the bench. The average vote in favor of retention for all 88 judges evaluated was 71%.[6]
